Originally built by Portuguese immigrants to the Hawaiian Islands in the 1880s, the small guitar-like instruments produced a lilting sound. Fender’s Nohea tenor ukulele offers finely crafted sound and construction. The Nohea model features the distinctive Fender Telecaster® guitar headstock shape, and bracing pattern designed exclusively for Fender and a Fender ukulele gig bag to get you started. The name Nohea name in Hawaiian, translates directly into the English lovely, which this model certainly is. Built of laminated koa (a native Hawaiian hardwood used by ancient Hawaiians to build dugout canoes), with a gloss finish and aged abalone acrylic binding.
